Obituary for John James Oliver

John James Oliver, 56, of Nutter Fort, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on December 16, 1961, a son of Ann Tonkovich Oliver, who survives in Nutter Fort, and the late Frank C. Oliver.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three nieces, Missy Oliver of Bridgeport; Jennifer Cogar and her husband Michael, Winchester, KY; and Rebecca Britt, Denver, CO; a great-nephew, Odin Cogar; sister-in-law, Beverly Oliver, Edgewood Community, Clarksburg; two aunts, Erma Pellegrin, Morgantown and Alice Tonkovich, Morgantown; and cousins, Debbie, Donna, Mark, Stephanie and Matthew.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank C. Oliver, II.
John was a graduate of R-W High School where he played football and enjoyed weightlifting. He then attended Fairmont State College and was a sales representative for North Central Distributors.
He enjoyed playing cards and hanging out with his many friends. He also enjoyed cooking and his dog Boo Boo. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 6 – 8 p.m., where Catholic Burial Rites will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 with Father D. Kent Durig presiding. Interment will follow in Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
