Obituary for Golda Alice Whitehair
Golda Alice Whitehair, 87, of Bridgeport, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2109 in Bridgeport. She was born on November 27, 1931 in Cox’s Mills, WV a daughter of the late Simon Lewis Walton and Vera Elizabeth Jones Walton.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Deward Whitehair, Jr whom she married in July of 1953.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Richard Whitehair of Titusville, FL and John Mark Whitehair and his wife Marlene of Morgantown; grandchildren Ricky Whitehair and his wife Gina of Colorado Springs, CO; great granddaughter, Nova Whitehair; grandson Luke Whitehair and his wife Patricia of Glenville, WV; grandson John David Whitehair and his wife Kristen of Morgantown; and grandson, David Allen Lloyd of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Jean Bailey of OH and Arlena King of CA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Walton and Glen Walton and one sister, Faye Hitt.
Golda was a 1951 graduate of Troy High School and she worked at a Daycare in Morgantown for 9 years. She lived in Titusville, Florida for 33 years in the winter months and she attended IRC Methodist Church in Titusville. She was also a member of the Glenville United Methodist Church and she enjoyed crafts, traveling and boating. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2-8 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 am with Reverend James Burrough presiding. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetry in Weston.
