Obituary for Mary Louise Owrey (Ogden)
Mary Louise Owrey, 94, of Clarksburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 22, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on September 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Charles Everett Ogden and Hattie Cutlip Ogden.
On December 20, 1941, she married William Oscar Owrey, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 18, 1982.
She is survived by two sons, Roger T. Owrey and his wife Donna of Sardis and Robert T. Owrey and his wife Patricia of Strasburg, CO; grandchildren, Kristi L. Moore and her husband Gary, Charles Owrey, James Owrey, Michael Owrey, Rebecca Owrey, Deborah Owrey, Elizabeth Owrey and Joshua Owrey; great-grandsons Brock David Moore and Kaleb Lee Moore, and many more great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Purkey of Fairmont.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Clay William Owrey and her sister Irene Holt.
Mary was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital as well as United Hospital Center, retiring as Head Supervisor in Housekeeping. She was a member of Clarksburg Baptist Church and served in the Lords Food Pantry.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tammy Phillips presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
