Obituary for Louis Anthony Iquinto

Louis Anthony Iquinto, 53, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19th 2019, with family by his side. He was born on January 19, 1966, in Clarksburg to Louis and Mary Ann (Naumann) Iquinto.

He is also survived by his four children; Jessica Iquinto, Sergio Iquinto, Anna Rose Iquinto and Giatta Iquinto, and one granddaughter, Liliana Harris. Also surviving are two sisters, Anne Axton and Ailsa Iquinto-Jones, and one brother Adam Iquinto and fiancée Amanda Savage. Anthony is survived by his nieces and nephews, Jerome Axton and wife Brittany, Antony Axton, Brynn Axton, Gabriella Iquinto-Jones, and Garrick Iquinto-Jones. Also surviving are his uncle, Pete Iquinto and wife JoAnn and three aunts, Leslie Naumann Moore, Beth Nale and husband Ken, and Rosalee Jordan (the late Butch Jordan) whom was like a second mother to Anthony. He is also survived by many cousins.

Anthony was a 1984 graduate of Notre Dame High School where he was a standout athlete in football and baseball. He was all state/all-county selection at baseball and his senior year he was all state in two positions in football and the runner up for the inaugural Frank Loria award. After high school he enlisted in the military and served for three years before being discharged. Anthony was employed by the City of Clarksburg.

Anthony will be remembered for his big heart, generosity, and being an avid Notre Dame fan. On numerous occasions he provided for others as he went without. His life revolved around his children. He traveled all around to watch them all play sports. Whenever he wasn’t at a ballfield watching the kids play, you could find him landscaping and doing multiple activities outside for whoever needed it done. He took pride in the work he did and was one of the hardest workers you’ll ever meet.

Anthony was a “give you the shirt off his back” kind of guy and his family and friends will miss him dearly.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday from 12 Noon – 8 p.m., where the Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
