Obituary for Betty Louetta Waugh

Betty L. Goodwin Waugh., 77, of Bridgeport, passed peacefully to her heavenly home following a short illness on Monday evening, May 27, 2019 at her son’s home. She was born September 24, 1941, in Ellamore, WV a daughter of the late Charles Lawrence Goodwin and Martha Friel Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Darrell E. Waugh, Sr., who passed away on January 22, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Eugene Waugh and his wife Karen of Kettering, OH; Bob Waugh and his wife Lisa of Bridgeport; a daughter Cynthia Turner and her husband Steve of Chesterfield, VA; five grandchildren, Robert Waugh and fiancé Chelsea Erwin; Wesley Muto and his wife Nicole; Jaclyn Waugh and companion Wyatt Huihui, Lindsey Waugh Mayle and companion Jared Williams and Katie Wolford and her husband Jeff; seven great-grandchildren, Brynna and Adler Mayle; Nika, Kash and Kane Howard; Rubie Waugh and Chase Wolford. A brother, Sherman Goodwin and his wife Connie, Stonewood; and a sister Marjorie Chewning and her husband Arnold, Buckhannon; sister-in-law Ima Goodwin, Buckhannon; Brother-in-law, John Lee of Gaines, WV; and several nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kylie Waugh; two sisters, Eileen Casto and Maxine Lee, and a brother, Carl Goodwin.
Betty was a graduate of Buckhannon High School Class of 1959. She had previously resided at Bridgeport Manor, and was a member of Harrison County Genealogical Society. She was a member of Oak Mound Evangelical Church, where she loved to worship and praise her Lord.
Family and friends may be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 12 – 4 p.m., where services will be held at 4 p.m. Reverend Steve DeLay presiding. Interment will be held at a later date.
