Obituary for Clarence Reed Kight

Clarence Reed Kight, 88, of Clarksburg, passed away on July 4, 2019 in Salem. He was born on June 25,1931 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Berl Clyda Kight and Frona Eva Reed Kight.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Williams Kight who passed away on August 7, 2012.
He is survived by one stepdaughter and her husband, Sandra J. and Kenneth E. Queen of Bruceton Mills, WV; a granddaughter, Melissa Smith and her husband James, Gore, VA; a grandson, Kenneth “Beau” Queen of Pasadena, MD; two great-granddaughters, Savanna Smith, Cheyenne WY and Samantha Dancy, Leesburg, VA; a brother Eugene Kight and his wife Shirley, Zanesville, OH; and two nephews, Ron and Jeff Kight.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Kight, Berl Kight, Jr. and Lawrence Kight; and a sister, Evelyn Kight Nelson.
Clarence was a 1950 graduate of Victory High School. He worked as a printer apprentice from 1947 to 1952 with the Clarksburg Exponent Telegram. He served in the United States Army 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He then returned to work as a type setter for the Clarksburg Exponent Telegram until he retired in1998 with 51 years of service.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 11 am to 12 noon. where funeral services will be held at noon with Reverend Rick Owens presiding. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
