Obituary for Cora Davis
Cora Huffman Davis, 79, of Wilsonburg, passed away on Sunday August 11, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on January 26, 1940, a daughter of the late Ernest M. and Evelyn I. Shock Huffman.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gary Duane Davis, who passed away on April 14, 2012.
She is survived by her children, Gregory D. Davis and his wife Lynda of Lumberport, and Jeanna Davis Spears and her husband Tim of Milton, WV. Also surviving are three grandsons: Trenton D (Olivia) Spears and Zachary S Spears, both of Milton, and Tommy Davis of Lumberport. She is also survived by one brother, Oliver Huffman of Wolf Summit, and two sisters, Anna Marie Swisher of Beverly and Carolyn (Shorty) Gola of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter Diane Renea Davis, and a brother Ernest Edward Huffman.
Cora graduated from Victory High School with the class of 1958. She worked at Sears and Roebuck and Bank One where she retired in 1995. She was a member of the North View United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from
6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019, with Reverend Kenny Kendall presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
