Obituary for Amie Elliott (Nicewarner)

Amie Elliott, 45, of Clarksburg, who for the past four years waged a valiant fight against cancer, passed away Tuesday evening, September 3, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Clarksburg on March 11, 1974, a daughter of Joseph Michael Nicewarner and Joan Ruth Watson Nicewarner, who survive in Bridgeport.
She is also survived by her husband of 22 years, John W. Elliott, whom she married June 14, 1997.
Also surviving are their three children, Damaris, Nicholas and Zachary Elliott, all at home; her sister, Ginger Johnson and her husband Jody, Mt. Clare; her brother, Jayson Nicewarner and his wife Aimee, of Morgantown; her niece and nephew, Brooke and Matthew Sandy; her mother-in-law, Linda Elliott Sprouse and her husband Robert, and her father-in-law, Lloyd Elliott, all of Clarksburg.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charity Elliott.
Amie was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and earned an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Assistant. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church.
She dedicated her life to her husband and children. She enjoyed painting and she especially enjoyed singing. She was always helping others in need, especially children, and helped start the Maranatha Baptist School in Kentucky where she also taught kindergarten.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019, with Pastor Jeff Vaughan presiding. Interment will follow in WV National Cemetery.
