Joseph Sal Martin, 75, of Bridgeport, WV, was born on September 10, 1944 in Denver, CO. He died on September 18, 2019 and is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Betty Martin and Mika Hunter, his daughter, Elizabeth’s fiancé.
Joe is survived by his wife, Kipp Martin; his son Eric Martin, daughters Jennifer Dodrill and her husband Jim, Jessica Lopez and her husband Mario, and Elizabeth Martin. He leaves behind grandchildren Max, Joseph and Jaryn Dodrill and Gemma and Aurora Lopez. He is also survived by his brother Sonny Martin and sisters JoDel Falcone, Lynn Senzatimore and Frani Ponce de Leon, their spouses and children.
Also surviving is his constant companion, his cat, Buster.
Joe graduated from New York University with a degree in psychology. He continued his graduate studies at Columbia University and received his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Joe was a licensed Chiropractic physician in Clarksburg, WV practicing from 1970 to 2012. During this time, he served four years as a member on the Board of Directors of the WV Chiropractic Society and was elected to the office of President for the next seven years. He was the Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association and served as Chairman, Vice Chair and Secretary of the American Chiropractic Association-PAC, concluding with title of Officer Emeritus.
Joe was a member of the Board of Directors of the Shepherd’s Corner in Bridgeport and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, St. Barnabas Chapel.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, September 27 from 2:00 until 7:00 pm.
A private funeral and burial will take place a later date.
