Obituary for Josephine Olivio (Chiado)

Josephine Chiado Olivio, 83, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday evening, October 4, 2019, at United Hospital Center. She was born on January 16, 1936, a daughter of the late Joe and Angelina Bilotta Chiado. She was also preceded in death by her husband Salvatore “Sam” Olivio, who passed away in November 2005.

Josephine loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, her many dear friends and her neighbors in Bridgeport. She was active in All Saints church until her health declined in recent years. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved gathering with her family and friends for large dinners and holiday celebrations. She was blessed to receive visits from her many dear friends in the days before her passing.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Olivio of Charleston, WV and Sam Olivio and his wife Kimberly of Bridgeport, WV; two grandchildren, Christian and Samantha Olivio; her sisters, Flora Plivelich of Hepzibah, Angeline Fuchs of Canton, OH, Mary Graves and her husband Willard of Hagerstown, MD, and Judy Stevens and her husband Greg of Charles Town, WV; a brother-in-law, John Folio of Nutter Fort, WV; a brother-in-law Ted Olivio of Pompano Beach, FL; sister-in-law Catherine Mayfield of Lewes, DE; and several nieces and nephews, Kathy Holbert, Rocco Chiado, Johnna Oehlsen, Sean Stevens, Yvonne Childers, Joe Chiado and Angie Cross; Joe Plivelich, Eric Folio, and Diane Donahew.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rocco Chiado and Frank Chiado; two sisters, Lorentina “Tina” Folio and Catherine “Katie” Chiado and nephew Jack Plivelich.

Family and Friends will be received at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 E. Main Street Bridgeport, WV 26330 on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 3-8 pm. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Christopher Turner as Celebrant. Interment will be in Simpson Cemetery.
