Obituary for Donald E Ashcraft

Donald E. Ashcraft, 69, of Stonewood, passed away Sunday morning, December 1, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on November 3, 1950, in Stonewood, a son of the late Evert Junior Ashcraft and Reatha Jean Ashcraft.
Donald is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Stephanie “Stevie” Bramer; two children, Brian E. Ashcraft of Moundsville and Becky Jackson Johnson and her husband Larry of Stonewood; five grandchildren, Destini Jackson and her fiancée Josh, Brandon “Bub” Jackson, Sarina Squires, Kayla Pyles, Racheal Ashcraft; and four great grandchildren; one sister, Cathy Williams and her husband Harry of Stonewood; aunts and uncles, Geneva and William Baker, Mary Ashcraft, Carol Ashcraft, Nancy Richison and Evelina Ashcraft; and a former son-in-law Greg Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife Sue Derbyshire.
Donald was a graduate of R-W High School and he was a heavy equipment operator for Beckwith Machinery and the Operating Engineers Union. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at his camp in Tucker County. He was a competition shooter at Whitehorse Shooting Range where he won many matches and awards. He also enjoyed his flower garden and spending time with his family, especially his grandson Brandon “Bub”, and his lifelong friend Ed Harbert.
The family would like to thank Dr. Salman Osman and Dr. Mike Angotti for their care and comfort, and a special thank you to Dr. Kyle Hurst for his compassion and friendship.
