Obituary for John Worthington Palmer
John W. Palmer, 85, of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Bridgeport. He was born on July 30, 1934 in Bridgeport a son of the late Enoch Worthington Palmer and Garnett Elizabeth Carpenter Palmer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Myers Palmer.
He is also survived by three sons, John Palmer and his wife Cathy of Cleveland, OH, Jeff Palmer and his wife Kaye of Bridgeport, and James Palmer and his wife Betsy of Sissonville and one daughter, Juanita Calvert and her husband Daniel of Clarksburg; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother James Palmer.
Mr. Palmer was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army for 2 years and then served 36 years with the Army Reserve #459 with the rank of CW4. He was employed with ATT and Verizon as a power man for many years until his retirement 10 years ago.
Private services will be held for the Palmer family.
