Shirley Jean Genteel, 70, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home. She was born on October 8, 1949 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Edgar McElwain and Clarsie McElwain.
She is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” Anthony Genteel, whom she married February 28, 1968.
She is also survived by her son Rick Genteel and his companion Stacy Ball of Clarksburg and her stepdaughter Tina Watson of Haywood; her daughter-in-law, Kim Genteel, Anmoore; grandchildren, Megan Genteel and her companion Jimmy Riddle and Joey and Jesse Watson; great grandchildren, Adriana, Jayden, Anthony, Jaxon and Avayia; two brothers, Walt McElwain and his wife Carol of Clarksburg, and Jack McElwain and his wife Nancy of TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Tony Genteel; one brother, Charles Harry McElwain and two sisters, Sharon Grega and her husband Andy and Lena Hardway.
Shirley worked for 30 plus years at Skills/Summit Center and she loved cooking Sunday dinners for family. She loved her family and her clients at work.
