Obituary for Ann B. Oliver (Tonkovich)

Ann B. Oliver, 88, of Nutter Fort, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Farmington on March 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Matt and Helen Tonkovich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Oliver.

She is survived by three granddaughters, Missy Hurst and her husband Kyle, Morgantown; Jennifer Cogar and her husband Michael, Nutter Fort; and Rebecca Britt, Denver, CO; her great-grandson, Odin Cogar; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Oliver, Edgewood Community, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Frank C. Oliver, II; and John James Oliver; her sisters, Katie Mullenax; Mary Tonkovich; and Helen Mazzei; and five brothers, Joe, Luke, John, Steve and Mike Tonkovich.

Ann had previously worked as a secretary for the Harrison County Board of Education, and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Stonewood.

Ann was a woman that appreciated the beauty of life. She enjoyed fashion, interior design, and floral arrangement. She loved to cook whether it was just a simple week night meal, holiday dinners, or canning peppers and sauce at the end of summer. Her biggest love was for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery, with Father Kumar Reddimasu presiding.
