Dennis Ellis Brown, 70, of Clarksburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 14, 2021, in Ruby Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Clarksburg on July 4, 1951, a son of the late Bacil Ellis Brown and Dottie Mae (Barker) Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Rita D. (Bartholow) Brown, whom he married on July 10, 1976.

Also surviving are two sons, Nathan Brown and his wife Claire of Kettering, United Kingdom; and Matthew Brown and his wife Leigh of Bridgeport; two grandchildren whom he adored, Alex and Audrey Brown; his brother, Michael Brown and his wife Carol of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Lee Brown.

Dennis was a graduate of Victory High School. He worked at Anchor Hocking for 17 years until it closed. He then worked for Harrison County Parks and Recreation in maintenance for 18 years.

He enjoyed guns and loved target shooting. He was a great father and loved his grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Bridgeport Cemetery with Reverend George Bramble presiding.
