Obituary for Terry Gene Kisner Sr.

Terry Gene Kisner, Sr., 82, of Harmony Grove Road, Grafton, went Home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was born in Farmington on February 1, 1939, a son of the late Ansel Guy and Edith Gertrude Marsh Kisner.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Loress Nadine Holcomb Kisner, whom he married July 30, 1960.

Also surviving are four children, Fleeta Dickey (Mike); Terry Gene Kisner, Jr.; Allan Kisner (Rhonda); and Eric Kisner; six grandchildren, Christopher Dickey (Sara); Benjamin Dickey (Joy); Hannah Glass (Justin); Seth Kisner; Noah Kisner (Sierra) and Micah Kisner; four great-grandchildren, Hoyt, Abigail, and Aiden Glass, and Rhema Dickey. Two sisters, Trina Vallorani (Gene), Debbie Opyoke (Andy); his brother-in-law Harry Cathell; and numerous nieces and nephews complete his family.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Dowdy, Donley, Ronnie, Jack and Guy Kisner; and four sisters, Barbara Kester, Betty Lou Hibbs, Maxine Moore, and Dinah Cathell.

By trade, Terry was a master builder and contractor. He was skilled in logging and excavation and was mechanically inclined. He enjoyed farming, gardening, camping, and being with his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, marksman, and woodsman with a keen sense of navigation and understanding of topography. A hunting trip to the mountains with his sons, grandsons, brothers, and nephews was a highlight in October each year. Above all else, Terry loved Jesus and made it his life goal that his family would serve the Lord.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, with his grandson, Pastor Christopher Dickey, presiding. Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery.
