Obituary for Raymond Anthony Harron

Raymond A. Harron. 82, who made his life in Bridgeport, died on July 20, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Ray was born June 26, 1932 in Illinois to the late R.V. and Lillian Harron.
Raymond is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Sandlin whom he married in 1961.
He is also survived by six loving children, Ray Harron and his wife Kim of Roanoke, VA, Scott Harron and his wife Jan of Dayton, OH, Carolyn H. Welch and her husband David of Falls Church, VA, Andrew Harron and his wife Susan of Kenosha, WI, Meredith H. McCarthy and her husband Chris of Bridgeport and Barbara H. Brannon and her husband Alan of Clarksburg; twenty four adoring grandchildren; two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Ray attended college and medical school in New York City, NY. He completed his residency in New Orleans, LA, where he also served in the U.S. Public Health Service. Thereafter, he moved to Bridgeport and ran a successful medical practice in West Virginia for many years. Ray will fondly be remembered for how fully he embraced all he cherished, from family and friends to his quest of education, knowledge and travel. He was memorialized by his loving family and friends at a private service at Burnside Funeral Home on July 26, 2014 with Father Benedict Kapa presiding.
