Obituary for Ruth Lenora Crim (Samples)

Ruth Lenora Samples Crim, 90, of Bridgeport, Green Valley Community, passed away Friday afternoon, August 29, 2014, in Bridgeport. She was born in Brushy Fork (Peppertown) on April 25, 1924, a daughter of the late Herbert Samples and Linda Chloe Poling Samples.
She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Ray Crim, who passed away in June of 1984.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Della Crim Riffle and her companion James Winning, Julia Crim and her companion Jake Seamone, Ronald Crim II and his companion Diana Eubank; and Jody Alan Crim and his companion Vickie Kerns, all of Bridgeport; her great grandchildren, Christopher Crim, Cole Crim, Randall Riffle, Sara Crim, Jessica Crim, Frankie Crim, and several great great-grandchildren, Dominick, Devon and Drake Crim, Elli Flint, Alli Nicholson, Caylee and Addi Riffle and Michael Crim; and one brother Herbert Ray Samples of Orange Park, FL; and two daughters-in-law Sandy Crim and Debbie Crim; two step grandchildren, Candace Richards and April High.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ronald, Ralph and Franklin Crim; three sisters, Wilma Jane Rogers, Thelma Reath Crouse and Nancy Bell Samples; three brothers, Clyde Edward Samples, Carl William Samples and James Crislip Samples.
Ruth was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She worked for the Marble Factory, Bridgeport Nursery and Parsons Sauders. She loved to read Dear Abby and true romance and true story novels and loved to listen to the old country music songs.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2– 8 p.m. on Monday, where services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, with Reverend James Thompson presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
