Obituary for Ronald Wesley Burt

Ronald W. Burt, 65, of Bridgeport, passed away Friday morning, September 26, 2014, in the United Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Alliance, OH, on December 18, 1948, a son of the late Bob and Betty Smith Burt.
He is survived by two sons, Vincent Burt, Bridgeport; and Nathan Burt and his partner Katherine, Canton, OH; a grandson, Landon Burt; three sisters, Connie Brownsberger and her husband Richard, The Villages, FL; Debbie Znosko and her husband Steve, Newark, OH; and Cynthia Powers and her partner Dennis, Alliance, OH; a brother, Robert Burt and his wife Sandy, Wallace, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was a USMC Vietnam veteran, attaining the rank of Sergeant and specializing in Avionics. Most of his service was spent at DaNang AFB. He retired as a tool and dye maker with Babock & Wilcox Steel in Alliance, OH.
He was a life-long learner with many interests including music, chess, skiing and other outdoor pursuits. He was also an accomplished stone mason.

At his request, he was cremated. Graveside services with Military Funeral Honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014, at the WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown.
