Betty Lee Lowther
Betty Lee Lowther, 90, of Quiet Dell Community, passed away on Sunday evening, February 22, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 12, 1924 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Ralph B. Lantz and Audrey Smith Lantz.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Stephen Lowther, Sr. whom she married on June 17, 1943.
She is survived by five children, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, daughter, Nina Sutherland Napolitano and her husband Felix of Lost Creek, Jack L. Sutherland and his wife Chris and their children, Hannah, Sarah and Emma of Friendswood, TX, Lisa Campbell and Madison Ware of Hope Mills, NC, two step grandsons, Phillip Napolitano and his wife Dawn of Albny NY and their children Marissa and Michael, Anthony Napolitano of Houston TX, Son Harold Stephen Lowther and his wife Sheri of Stonewood, Chad Lowther and his wife Nicole of Charleston, Brady Lowther and his wife Maggie and their children, Grant, Olivia, and Reed of Bridgeport, Matthew (Chew) Lowther of Clarksburg, Son, Barry L. Lowther and his wife Marlene of Stonewood, Barry Samuel Lowther and his wife Jo Ellen and their children, Samuel L. and Emma J. Lowther of Grove Port, OH, Shane Brian Lee Lowther and his wife Jasmine and their child Lorenzo O. Lowther of Bridgeport, Daughter, Catherine (Cathie) L. Stutler and her husband John of Bridgeport, Stephanie E. Rachel and her husband Chris of Rogers AR, John (Johnny) M. Stutler and his wife Amanda of Bridgeport, and their children Jayce A. Stutler and Jayna E. Stutler of Bridgeport, and Daughter, Debbie Jo McMillian and her husband Mac of Charleston, Amy J. Shaw/Jantosz of Pittsburgh, PA, Angela Shaw Lindroth and her husband Chris of Columbus IN and Mya N. Shaw and John C. Lindroth. She is also survived by a half-brother, Ralph B. Lantz and a half-sister, Rebecca Lantz of AR; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Burr Bond Lowther, son-in-law H. Jack Sutherland, and a sister Kathleen Carpenter.
Betty taught Sunday school at Trinity United Methodist church for many years. She is a member of Quiet Dell United Methodist Church and she will always be remembered for her generosity and always there to lend a hand. She was a great cook, housewife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She was employed by the Harrison County Board of Education as a cook with 12 years of service. Her hobbies were swimming , where she was a charter member of the Spa, and she enjoyed quilting, baking salt risen bread, hot rolls and cinnamon rolls.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her primary caregiver, Violet Stackpole who provided TLC for the last 3 years. Also a special thanks to Margaret Roles, Debby Hanning and Darlene Wilkinson.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 2-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am with Reverend Fred Aves presiding. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Brushy Fork.
