Obituary for Doris "Cookie" Lynch

Doris “Cookie” Lynch, 70, of Good Hope, passed away Tuesday morning, November 3, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Amedisys Hospice. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on February 6, 1945, a daughter of the late Lloyd Wayne Hammond and Lalah Mae McVicker Hammond.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Gerald Lynch, whom she married July 24, 1964.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dawn Cummings and her husband Scott, Cumberland, RI, and Kerri Hoffman, Kitty Hawk, NC, and a grandson, Jacob Hoffman, Kitty Hawk, NC.
Cookie was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was the co-founder of “His Hands Ministry.” She loved scrapbooking, and she had worked as a receptionist in various dental offices in the area.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cookie’s memory are asked to be made to “His Hands Ministry”, in c/o Kay Gibson, 75 Shay Drive, Jane Lew, WV 26378
A service to celebrate Cookie’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at New Bethel United Methodist Church, Good Hope, with Reverend Destry Daniels presiding.
