His bright blue eyes, infectious smile, and heroic courage never ceased during his two-and-a-half-year battle. Jack was known for his love of others and his giving heart. Upon a visit from one of his favorite superheroes, Batman, Jack took on the role himself. Wearing his favorite costume, he transformed into a superhero and visited the other sick children to share his love, positivity, and encouragement. Although he lived most of his life in hospitals, he still captured and touched the hearts of many people all over the world whom he had never met.
