Obituary for Adam John Cone

Adam John Cone, 44, of Louisville, KY, left his earthly home suddenly on Thursday, August 24, 2017, doing what he loved - riding his motorcycle.
Adam was born Sept. 25, 1973, in Clarksburg, WV, the only child of John L. “Chip” Cone and Lou Anne Cone who survive.
Adam is also survived by his daughter, Casey Lane Cone of Louisville, KY; his cousins and their families, Dr. Mark B. Vecchio and his wife, Dawna, of Bridgeport, Mary Lou Fusco and her husband, Michael, of Clarksburg, Brooke Anne Harris and her husband, John, of Wyomissing, PA, Erin Grossa Brown, and her husband, Dave, of Deltona, FL, Ryan Grossa of Sanford, FL; his aunt, Jennifer Cone-Wells and her husband, Jerry B. Wells, of Ormond Beach, FL.
Very dear to his heart were his Louisville family; J.R. and Jeanie Richeson, with whom he made his home; Jennifer Kay Thomas and her children, Katlyn Rose Huff, Hannah Grace Huff, and his very special “son”, Michael James Thomas, all of Shepherdsville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene Brooks and Mary Jane Haines of Bridgeport, his paternal grandparents, John F. Cone of Bridgeport, and Joe and JoAnn Cone Eskew of New Smyrna Beach, FL.; his beloved aunts, Nancy Jane Elder, of Bridgeport and Connie Cone Grossa, of Orlando, FL; his uncles, Tom Elder of Bridgeport, Joe Vecchio of Clarksburg, and Metro “Butch” Grossa of Altamonte Springs, FL.
Adam graduated from Notre Dame High School and the American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona Beach, FL. He was a motorcycle mechanic by trade and worked for Harley- Davidson of Radcliff and Louisville Harley-Davidson before opening his own motorcycle repair business in his garage. Prior to his move to Kentucky, he was employed by Cone Masonry Construction where he learned many facets of the construction business from his father.
Adam loved motorcycles, music and people. He was a self-taught musician who loved to refurbish and rebuild guitars; an artist who created unique knives and jewelry; an inventor who could make whatever he needed from whatever was available; and a caring friend with a big heart. Adam loved life and lived it to the fullest-often on the edge. His ornery smile and infectious laugh will be missed, but never forgotten, by his family and his many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Adam’s memory to Wounded Warrior Project at supportwoundedwarriorproject.org/donate or Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517. (885-448-3997)
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 3 to 8 pm. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm to conclude visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 E.
