He served during the Korean War in the US Navy from 1952- 1955, serving on the USS Waller. He worked as a Marble Setter on famous buildings in Washington, DC, and then was a route sales/distributor for Wise, Mann’s, and Archway Cookies in the Greater Metropolitan Areas of Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland Suburban, retiring in 1995. He moved to WV with 2 other family members in Nov. 1999.

When he was a teenager he was an usher at a movie theater which influenced his love of early Classic Movies & Westerns. He had great love for music, including early musicals with song and dance numbers; he caught up in the wave of folk music in the early ‘60’s; loved church hymns; got involved in barbershop quartet; popular, Rock ’n Roll, and opera. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help until September 2014, when his illness prevented him from going. His biggest asset was his love of family, playing with the children, big meals and get-togethers, sing-a-longs, and plenty of Italian food, especially spaghetti, meatballs, and lasagna.
