Obituary for Robert A. "Bobby" Ewing

Robert A. (Bobby) Ewing, 80, of Mannington and formerly of Brushy Fork Road, Bridgeport, passed away Friday afternoon, October 28, 2016, at his daughter Vicky’s residence in Mannington. He was born in Clarksburg on February 13, 1936, a son of the late Robert Boyd Ewing and Lula Florence (Buck) Ewing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dasie G. (Morris) Ewing, on March 19, 1994. They were married on March 16, 1956.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicky Lynn Hayes and her husband Randall, Mannington; two sons, William B. Ewing and his wife Sandy, West Union; and Robert Arlie Ewing, II, Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Jason L. Hayes and his wife Lisa; Robert E. Hayes and his wife Angie; Casey M. Ewing Jarrett and her husband Larry; and R. Tyler Ewing and his wife Nikki; eight great-grandchildren, Connor A. Hayes; Chloe A. Hayes; Elliott Hayes; Kylee Jarrett; Mia Jarrett; Izac Ewing; Jacob Ewing; and Kaydance Ewing; two sisters, Betty Newlon, Philippi and Joy Anderson, Bridgeport; his ex-wife, Belva M. Ewing, Bridgeport; a step-daughter, Kay Cunningham, Bridgeport; and a step-son, James L. Morris, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two great-grandsons, Dominick and Xavier Jarrett; three sisters, Irene Sigley, Maxine Burgoyne, and Lucille Keough; and two brothers, Ralph Burton Ewing and Claude Ray Ewing; and a step-granddaughter, Shelby Cunningham.
Bobby was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Class of 1955. He had worked at PPG from 1955 – 1974, and then for the Harrison County Board of Education as a custodian at Bridgeport High School from 1989 – 2005. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed auction sales, antiques, and going to Calhoun County.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Morgantown, 841 Country Club Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 2 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, with Reverend Thomas P. Horne presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
